South Sudanese Refugees Association (SSURA) was founded in Koboko – Uganda in September 2016 mindful of the need for the South Sudanese refugees in Uganda getting united, promote reconciliation and peaceful co-existence among the South Sudanese Refugees in Uganda across all tribes and the host communities of Uganda, creation and promotion of economic activities for self-reliance, advocacy and awareness on legal protection issue for registered refugees who have moved to urban areas for reasons such as being nearer to better medical facilities and Education and self-employment among others and those within the refugees camps.

As an eyewitness to the heartbreaking situations in South Sudan, we are driven by our vision toestablish a durable and sustainable progressive platform and to provide a bridge building-model to trauma transformation, peace building, reconciliation and recovery through cultural reconstruction and cross-tribal dialogues.
